UVM Greenhouse

I very much appreciated that we were given the opportunity to visit the UVM Greenhouse today instead of venturing outside into the cold. The last few field trips had been brutally cold, and it was a nice change of pace to be inside. The climate of the greenhouse is borderline tropical. Moisture and humidity hang in the air, while the sweet scent of blooming flowers and hearty green plants drifts under our noses. It was like stepping into another world, away from the bitter cold and into a tropical forest.

Today was a day for up close photography, but I still tried to put my "looking up" perspective to good use. I had fun changing the focus on my camera, though its ability was limited. Again, I'd like to share my favorite photographs from the day. It may not be apparent, but the succulent plants were my favorite. I am weirdly drawn to them… possibly because they are so low maintenance and I'm prone to killing plants, possibly because they are so exotic looking.
